North Sea Salt Works takes top honours at Norway’s most prestigious food awards Det Norske Måltid —
The Jury’s Special Selection Award

The Jury’s Evaluation:
Not all products submitted for our evaluation fits perfectly into one of our categories. But that does not mean that it is not a fantastic product deserving of honour and recognition. All the judges from the first regional entries evaluations to the national final became so infatuated by this product that it was decided to give it a special price and start a new tradition that we have called — The Jury’s Special Selection. The winner produces a very elegant product with a deep tradition that has been missing from the Norwegian culinary landscape for over a century. We are therefore very excited that this company is reviving this historically and culturally important production. This is a 100% natural product that embodies Norwegian coastal culture.

It’s a delicious slow cooked meal served with boiled potatoes, good ale and a little glass of Aquavit. She is using Havsnø Flake Salt in this recipe. Which we are very grateful for.
